What is the Void?

The void, is a place that has always fascinated me, and one that I find increasingly difficult to describe as I journey deeper into it. It is the infinite abyss where raw primordial energy in its most base state exists. It is where pure chaos resides. It is the inbetween, where energy is returned to after destruction and where energy is pulled from for the initial stages of creation. It is the primordial womb.

Having an understanding of the void can be very useful to the black magician. Even if you aren’t working with void directly, understanding its influence on how energy flows can be very beneficial and allow you to go deeper into your own magick. Not only that, but if you wish to pursue Qliphothic initiation you must eventually cross Daath. Understanding void and even working with the entities who gatekeep the hidden sphere can be extremely beneficial and can help you prepare so that you can cross safely.

In the context of the infernal realms, there is Chasek, Tohu, and Bohu. The three sections of void which are beyond the Qliphoth. There is also Daath in the Qliphothic tree of death. There is more to the void than only these sections, I believe that viewing it as having completely distinct sections is an extreme oversimplification, although it can be useful for path-working. Not only that but many other pantheons also involve void. The void is infinite and colorless, neutral energy, it has no bounds.

All energy moves in cycles. It is pulled from the void in its most raw and primordial state, and then it is used to create. This energy will probably flow and transform through several forms before it is eventually returned to the void. When this happens it is dissolved and returned to a raw primordial state.

In my own experience I’ve found that void and source are two sides of the same coin, they are just aspects of the same singularity. Where source is pure light and creation, void is pure darkness, chaos, and dissolution. The void and source are both equally important parts of the whole.

-I must include a caution in this post due to the nature of the void-

The void is extremely dangerous to try to work with, it is pure chaotic primordial energy that has not been formed into any sort of structure yet. This energy is extremely unstable and it desires only to return anything it touches to itself. It has the power to corrupt and dissolve anything it touches. So I would not recommend trying to work with this energy unless you are either an advanced practitioner, or you are being pushed to work with it by your guides. And even then exercise extreme caution. This is the first post in what will be a series, I will eventually be uploading a post on safety considerations. 

The reason I am even writing about this topic is because the infernals I work closely with are asking me to. I will only be giving information with the intent to help people not end up corrupted by the voids influence. I will not be teaching people how to get on this path or how to do void magick. That is something that you need to be guided through by your guides.
